Streetscape Maintained

• The main reason for changes to Beacon Avenue in 1997 was to improve the looks, or streetscape, of Beacon Avenue. This was accomplished by putting the hydro lines underground, widening the sidewalks, adding street furniture and trees. The one-way traffic was a late addition.
• The streetscape of Beacon Avenue is indeed beautiful and will only continue to improve with lighting, new street furniture and other new attractive features.
• Making Beacon Avenue two way once again will not take away from the streetscape. In fact, it will probably enhance the small town/village feel. People will have easy access to a tranquil downtown main street from all points.
